1st day: Athens

Arrival in Athens, transfer to the hotel where we spend the night.

2nd day: Athens-Naxos

The morning we spend visiting Athens, the old town of Plaka and the museum of Acropolis.In the afternoon transfer by bus or metro to the port of Piraeus where we catch the ferryboat to Naxos (a 5.30 hour crossing).

3rd day: Mili-Apano Kastro

After a short transfer by public bus to Mili Kourounochori we visit the Kouros statue from 500b.C.
Then we start to walk up toward Apano Kastro (a Venetian 9th century fort) and from there to Halki our destination.From Halki we return to Naxos by bus in the afternoon and there we have time for a relaxing swim.
Late afternoon we get acqainted with Chora and its castle walking through the small alleys of the old town.Walking time 4 hours. +450 meters / - 350 meters

4th day: Zeus cave-Zeus-Filoti

By bus we travel to Filoti and there we visit first the cave of Zeus.The trail continues to the highest peak of the island on the mountain Zas(1004 m).The whole island is at our feet.
Incredible views over to the Archipelagos.We have time to relax and enjoy our picnic before we return to Filoti and then by bus again to Chora.Walking time 4.30 hours. + 700 meters / - 750 meters. We still have time for a swim.Overnight in the same hotel.

 

5th day: Apeiranthos

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by bus to Agia Marina and from there we walk to Moni Fotodoti.Our walk today brings us to our destination, the village of Apeiranthos situated at 650 meters.
There, we will have lunch in a small tavern. For those who are interested the small village has 5 small museums to offer. In the afternoon we take the bus back to Chora. Walking time 2.30 hours. +250 meters

6th day: Naxos-Amorgos

The morning is free to spend in the town. If you like you can visit the small but very interesting archeological museum with some of the most beautiful cycladic finds.Departure to the island of Amorgos.
We settle into our hotel in Katapola, where we spend the night.

7th day: Varsamitis-Chora-Katapola

From the hotel we follow the path toward Minoa the ancient site which overlooks Katapola and from there we carry on to the monastery of Varsamitis and Chora the main town. We return to Katapola and in the afternoon we have time for a swim. Walking time 4 hours. +450 meters / - 250 meters

8th day: Profitis Ilias

Our walk starts in Chora where we follow the small picturesque streets to the beginning of the trail that leads up to the chapel of Profitis Ilias.
From there we have a magnificent view overlooking the whole island of Amorgos. After a short break we go back to Chora, where we stop for lunch and we descend on the beautiful little track of Milies back to Katapola.
In the afternoon there is time for a swim. We spend the night in our hotel. Walking time 4.30 hours.+ 350 meters / - 750 meters

9th day: Monastery Chozoviotissa

In the morning we take the bus from Katapola to Chozoviotissa,one of the most famous sights of the island.We visit the monastery and we then continue on the path that leads to Asphodiliti, Potamo and finishes in Aegiali. There we have the oppurtunity to relax swimming in the beautiful waters,before we return by bus to Katapola. Walking time 5.30 hours.+ 300 meters/ - 600 meters.Overnight in our hotel.

10th day: Small Cyclades Koufonisi

Departure by boat according to the ferry schedule for Koufonisi.
Koufonisia are consisted by a group of 2 islands situated on the south east side of Naxos and west of Amorgos. The golden sand and the clear water with the unique colours complete the beauty of the islands…Back to Amorgos where we will spend the night.

11th day: Agios Ioannis Theologos-Stavros

Departure by bus toward the village of Tholaria and from there we walk up first to Agios Ioannis Theologos and we continue to the church of Stavros. During the walk we have a spectacular view all the time. From there we walk back to Lagada and Aegiali and we continue by bus back to Katapola. Walking time 6 hours. +450 meters / - 700 meters

12th day: Arkesini-Vroutsi

Starting from our hotel we follow the path to ancient site of Arkesini and then to the village of Vroutsi from where we return by bus to Katapola in the afternoon. Walking time 5 hours. + 600 meters /- 300 meters. Last night on Amorgos we spend in our hotel.

13th day: Amorgos-Piraeus

We take the ferry boat back to Piraeus where we spend the last night of our journey in a hotel in Athens.

14th day:

Transfer to the airport for the flight home

Insurance: Limited insurance is held by the operator. The client acknowledges and accepts that there may be no policy covering the Company’s liability to its clients for death, injury, damage or loss occurring anywhere in the world. The client also specifically acknowledges that with respect to passenger accident liability cover this cover may be very limited or may not exist at all. The client acknowledges that the company has taken reasonable steps in safeguarding its liability. Although the Company does hold various insurances this booking condition states that the client must assume he/she is not covered by any Company insurance policy, including all liability insurance, for death, injury, damage or any other loss.

Period:  On Request Basis from April to October.

​

Transportation: We travel by our own mini-bus, which leaves us to walk and continues, with our baggage, to the next place where we will stay for the night.

​

Accommodation: Hotels in the cities, village pensions throughout the trip (all with private facilities).
The trip prices are based on double occupancy.

​

Food: Every morning we have breakfast in the hotels, picnic lunch en route and a dinner at local tavern. (Vegetarians are welcome on the trips)

​

Price per person: 2.475,00€

The hikes offer a moderate trek with a maximum of 5-6 hours walk on rocky terrain. Participants should be in good physical condition with a little of experience.
