The ascent to mount Olympus and its highest peak (Mytikas 2.918 meters) starts from the west side of the mountain and the village of Kalyvia. After 1.30 hours of driving with a 4X4 car we reach the location / Christakis shelter at 2.400 meters altitude. From there in one hour of hiking we reach the top of Skala at 2.784 meters where we wear our helmets and bond with our trained leader. The descent to the ladder and the ascent to the top will take another 1.30 hours. For the return it will take another 2 hours until we reach  our car in Christakis place.
