Air fare to and from Thessaloniki, personal travel-health insurance, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, personal expenses, entrance fees in Museums, and other sites of interest that are not included in the trip description.

Meteora & Olympus 8 days trekking
1st day: Thessaloniki - Kalambaka
Arrival at Thessaloniki airport where the group meets its guide. Transfer by bus to Kalambaka (3-4 hours). Overnight in Kalambaka.
2nd day: Meteora Monasteries
Today we will visit the most interesting monasteries of Meteora. There are still 5 monasteries inhabited out of about 13 that used to be active some centuries ago. Magnificent frescoes and the treasures of the monasteries, late Byzantine artworks, are some of their best features. Overnight in Kalambaka.
3rd day: Meteora - Litochoro
Today we will go by bus to Litochoro (3 hours). Short afternoon walk in the area of the Dion archeological site .
4th day: Litochoro - Prionia - Spilios Agapitos refuge
In the morning we will drive with a minibus to the area of Prionia. We will start our climb on the mountain of Gods and at 2.200 meters we will go through a forest of "Abies" trees. From then on the trees become sparce and the only trees around are of the "Pinus heldreichii" kind. Overnight in the refuge Spilios Agapitos. (3 hours)
5th day: Spilios Agapitos refuge - Skolio - Spilios Agapitos
Today our aim is to reach the summit of the impressive Skolio peak, rising up to 2.904 meters offering compelling views all around. Skolio is the third highest summit of Mt. Olympus. Return for lunch at the Spilios Agapitos refuge. Overnight in the refuge. (6-7 hours)
6th day: Spilios Agapitos - Prionia - Enipeas Gorge - Litochoro
In the morning we walk down to Prionia and the entrance of Enipeas gorge. From Prionia we will hike down along Enipeas river to the Holy cave and the Monastery of Agios Dionysios at 780 meters. We will have the chance some of the common and rare plantations of the National Park. A variety of geological configurations created small ponds and waterfalls. From there we will walk down to the village of Litochoro. Overnight in Litochoro. (6 hours)
7th day: Litochoro - Thessaloniki
After breakfast, transfer from Litochoro to Thessaloniki where we will spend the night.
8th day:
Transfer to Thessaloniki Int. airport
TRIP DETAILS
Insurance: Participants should be covered by their own personal travel-health insurance prior to the trip. The personal insurance must at least cover medical expenses as well as air rescue and the cost of repatriation.

Period: From May to October 2022.
Transportation: All transfers during the trip are included.
Accommodation: Hotels in the cities, village pensions throughout the trip (all with private facilities). The trip prices are based on double occupancy.
Food: Every morning we have breakfast in the hotels, picnic lunch en route and a dinner at local tavern. (Vegetarians are welcome on the trips)
Group Size: 4 -16 participants.
Difficulty Level: (2)
Moderate trek with a maximum of 6-7 hours walk on rocky terrain. For the highest summit of mt. Olympus, Mytikas an easy scrambling is required. Participants should be in good physical condition with experience.
